Welcome to Kanka's public roadmap, where you'll find features we are working on and upvote on features that you want to see added to Kanka.
Make it so that you can have one calendar, but divide it into eras, for instance first era, second era, third era, or maybe ages, age of wisdom, age of enlightenment. Many fantasy worlds spans thousands of years, with npcs that might have been born in a different era entirely.
We should be able to mention dates, which are automatically formatted using the campaign's date format. Clicking it brings you to the month that date is in
Allow multiple character sheets on the same entity. For example, rather than one massive sheet, it would allow having multiple smaller ones.
NPCs aren't always static. This option especially makes sense when they move a lot, or when locations are small sized. It would be very useful when you search who might be in a location visited by the PCs
Add the ability to add adopted children, a spouse's previous partner, the ability to add a child without a partner, and the likes. This would make family trees much more versatile and easy to use, because it'd allow for more flexibility of what can be considered "family".
Allow characters to be alive, dead, or a new option "missing" and make it easy to filter and find them.
Add a new type of dashboard widget that allows selecting a folder from the gallery, and displays images from the selected folder on the dashboard, with a way of going back and forward between images of the folder.
It is already possible to upload mp3 files to entities and pin them to the sidebar, but this makes the file a link. Instead, it should have the file be playable in the sidebar in an audio player without having to open a new tab.
When we can use (dashed) lines on our maps, we could create (new) roads, rivers, borders, etc.
This way you won't have to create and upload a new image when something like this changes in your world.
You could probably do the same with a polygon, but this is quite tedious.
When adding a reminder to a journal or quest that can have a calendar date, automatically set that reminder as the calendar date.
When several abilities have the same name but a different parent (powers/skills), having the parent displayed in the menu "ability (parent)" would make the selection easier.
In long entities with multiple posts, locating the exact passage where a search term is located can be tricky. Adding a query parameter to the URL to highlight them like ReadTheDocs does would be helpful.
At the moment the only quest status is "completed". Add a few more, for example "not started", "ongoing", "abandoned", and "completed".
Add the ability to set the role permissions for gallery images.
Mainly useful for Werewolf players, but might be aesthetically pleasing.
