It is intellectual curiosity that sent me on this path. My professor in college Lord Theadore Thomas Blackwood, an esteemed explorer and anthropologist has come upon and artifact, which he presented during lecture,

Blackwood,

To exemplify limits of our techniques, take this pendant. It was found within the debris field of a destroyed research vessel over a hundred years ago and has been sitting in our university archives ever since then. It has resisted carbon dating as no trace of carbon-14 can be found in it. It has yielded no connections to any cultural body of knowledge. It does have traces of plutonium-239 and the isotope can be traced to a number of especially violent supernovas within our galaxy, but this has resulted in absurd timelines spanning eons, far outpacing any culture on record...

This curious fact, an anomalous trinket, that should have been easily discarded as just a spurious mystery, burrowed itself into my mind and I became obsessed. Within months I've managed to entangle my dear wife into this Sisyphean pursuit and we along with Lord Theadore Thomas Blackwood embarked to finds the root it. Having repeatedly eliminated sources of measurement error we had no other choice, but to follow the most dubious of leads. Within three years of my dissertation, on the day of my daughter's birth, we have found a connection. By accident, one of our junior assistants has exposed the pendant to prolonged radiation, by forgetting it in the measurement chamber. Upon realizing her mistake she was shocked to find that the pendant revealed a symbol. The symbol has led us to a cult, colloquially referred to as Unknown.

It was a researcher at a sister college, Unir NaDoldor who messaged me and made the connection,

Dear Dr. Nathan Perdu, I have come upon your draft paper and description of the this unidentifiable pendant within the research bulletin of our Unknown. Upon seeing the image, I almost fell out of my seat. I too have found three very similar pendants and resigned to little chance of ever identifying them. But you have succeeded where I have languished and given me new hope. You see, this is the symbol of the Mechanites or Unknown. There is embarrassingly little literature on the topic, but I have been in pursuit of unearthing this culture for a better part of the decade and think I may have a lead for you. There is a legend of a city, Unknown

Unir NaDoldor, my wife, and I have become fast friends. He even gifted my daughter A'aret Perdu one of the pendants as a celebration of her birth, which also marked the beginning of our joint pursuit. Together, with the guidance of Lord Theadore Thomas Blackwood and correlations to Unir NaDoldor's existing research, we have successfully extracted from the four artifacts the coordinates for an ancient city, Unknown, which lies in a long abandoned star system of a curious dying star. Soon after our daughter knew how to walk, we left A'aret Perdu with family friends and set off for a two week expedition accompanied by a small security contractor, Unknown. Sadly, Unir NaDoldor disappeared two days before we left.

It is at this point that I will further warn you that even though I have encoded within my tablet (Dr. Perdu's Tablet) key data pertaining to this world, you will have no chance of decoding it as is. But, if you were to find yourself on this moon, I will surmise that it is too late for you to turn back and that you must have the wit to figure out how to decode the information when this time comes. You have ignored my warnings and sealed your fate to that of mine. I may only tell you that I myself have taken amnestic and have thoroughly removed this knowledge from my head as to prevent myself from ever returning. For that world turned out to be most hostile and took my wife from me and claimed the lives of everyone else on that expedition in the most horrific of ways.

The below line appears out of synch with the rest of the text
What is there is not, for That, Which It's Not never was and always will be out of time and space in the astral sea.

I have searched for Unir NaDoldor and the location of Unknown for over a decade.

Over time I have infected my daughter with this disease as she took on my passion. Now after so many years, this damned pendant has brought me to Unknown on the news that new Unknown ruins having been unearthed by the Unknown. I have convinced the conglomerate to stay mining in the immediate area and pressured Unknown to, once again, form an expedition and with that have assigned my daughter to the fate of her mother.

What I was searching for was far more than I imagined and far more dangerous...

There appears to be a section which has been deleted.

We found it! We found Unknown! But, the expedition was doomed from the start as we were sabotaged by the most horrific of creatures, which disguised itself as one of my staff. It is my own ignorance that led to this. I was clouded by my ego in thinking that I and my daughter were the only ones left in pursuit of this discovery. But this was far from the truth as this thing, that called itself Amarelyh, has killed, no devoured, everyone in the expedition. I managed to escape with my daughter, running for miles through the desert, but this thing was inhuman and relentless, always on our heals. Before long we were engulfed by a sandstorm and my daughter too was lost.

If you are reading this then I fear that I too am about to perish and Amarelyh has gotten what it wants. I fear my ignorance of the relics. I fear that what I found is of greater consequence than I ever imagined. I fear for myself. I fear for us all.
