The Continent of Eberron is a very self sufficient, and is more technologically advanced, mostly due to the presence of "The Moon That Never Sets". The Moon rains down ambient magic that the people of Eberron have learned to harness for advancing every day life. Trains, electric lights, heating and cooling systems, blimps, and other flying machines all use the Moon That Never Set's as a power source, which is why they are unable to supply them to other continents. There has even been the creation of sentient race of magical robots called the Warforged that are powered by the Moon, and thus can only live in Eberron. It is said that Eberron is the birthplace of all life as it is home to the oldest known tree in existence, The Tree of Life, that many believe started life on the planet.
At one point, Eberron was one giant country, united together after the Dragon Campaign. But over time, pride and political agenda took hold and Eberron was split into 2 major countries: The Kingdom of Khorvaire, and The Republic of Galifar; along with 6 smaller ones: Spac Flya, Aundair, Breland, Cyre, Thrane, and Karrnath.
