Caballito is a neighborhood of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the geographic center of said city is located. Its territory coincides with that of Comuna 6. It has an area of 6.8 km² and a total population of 176,076 inhabitants according to the 2010 census, of which 55.2% are women and 44.8% men. .2 The 2001 census registered 170,309 inhabitants, which represents an increase of 3.4%. 2 The Sarmiento line (Caballito station), the subway line A (Rio de Janeiro, Acoyte, Primera Junta and Puán), line E (Avenida La Plata and José María Moreno stations), as well as numerous bus lines.
It is delimited by Avenida Juan B. Justo, Avenida San Martín, Avenida Gaona, Avenida Ángel Gallardo, Río de Janeiro, Avenida Rivadavia, Avenida La Plata, Avenida Directorio, Curapaligüe and Donato Álvarez. It limits with the neighborhoods of Villa Crespo to the north, Almagro and Boedo to the east, Parque Chacabuco to the south, and Flores and Villa General Miter to the west.3
Rivadavia Avenue marks the axis of the neighborhood and its commercial area -which is one of the most important in the city- and is located mainly between Avenida La Plata/Río de Janeiro and Del Barco Centenera/Rojas, being the intersection with the Acoyte Avenue and its continuation, José María Moreno Avenue, the center of the Caballito neighborhood, since in these corners there are galleries where you can buy all kinds of merchandise and where many urban collective transport lines and the Acoyte station converge. from subway line A.
It is one of the neighborhoods with the largest population in the city of Buenos Aires and one of the most densely populated (25,893.5 inhabitants/km²).
