Rumours of Renaer's father, Dagult Neveremberthe former Open Lord of
Waterdeep, having embezzled half a million gold started spreading around the city.
This would cause frictions between the Xanathar's Guild and
The Black Network as they would often have fights out in the streets, trying to get their
hands on the treasure first.
Dagult hid the treasure in a secret
vault. The knowledge of where to find this vault and how to open it was said
to be left within an artifact called
The Stone of Golorr.
The Trollskull Crushers managed to get their hands on the stone and discovered the location of the vault. They also discovered that the vault can only be opened by bringing it three keys:

The party failed to retrieve the treasure as it was instead taken by the Cassalanter family.
