The Council of Westgate sees to the running of the town and oversees both the town guard and The Westgate Border Patrol.
Full mayoral elections are held every two years, and the elected mayor selects 5 councillors. Most of these councillors also have jobs outside of government.
Structure
- Treasurer: oversees the town's finances.
- Councillor for Housing, Planning, and Transport: in charge of general town maintenance and building works including road maintenance.
- Councillor for Security: is always the same person as the Captain of the Guard.
- Councillor for Waste and Health: manages waste disposal as well as the town's health initiatives.
- Councillor for Trade: manages the town's business and trade.
