Westgate is a small town between Earion and Brightsage, marking the border between Westide and Middenfall. It's mostly used as a stopping point for caravans. Westgate was once the westernmost fortress of The Old Kingdom, protecting the border. The main gate still remains but the bulk of the town walls are in ruins since Westide was populated by humankind.
Westgate is governed by a mayor and council, a small town guard operate here to protect traders, and The Westgate Border Patrol operate from the town barracks. House Riktsvak's influence can be seen across the town, which is very militaristic compared to towns of a similar size along the road between Lancetide and Earion.
