- Soa, the Creator, sire of the light and the darkness. Light feeding the dark, and dark feeding the light; The ouroboros. Both need each other to survive, as a balance must always be maintained. This is the "Order of Life." (Note: Also a religious faith. Followers of the OoL believe that the purpose of life is to maintain the balance and the realm. They are the official "church" of the alliance in Ahngea. Because of this, many of the Dragoons under alliance control are also upheld to OoL standards.)
[ How is the balance maintained?..
Just as Soa created the light and the dark, his duality is instilled into all Hearths.. As above, and so below, the "Underworld" stirs. Astral beings, demons, & monsters from the darkness surrounding the Hearth seep into the darkest depths of the realm.. This is the eternal fight.
The Winged, along with their Dragon, the original caretakers & defenders of balance in the Hearth.. Until the once enslaved Humans defeated their Winged masters in a great war. While the Winged continue to do all they can to maintain balance in the Hearth, they no longer possess the power they once did, now that Humans have the power of the Dragons at their side. (Note: Winged were Dragon tamers and riders. On the other hand, Humans somehow absorb and possess the spirit of the Dragons. ]
As time has passed and the mundane has set in, Humans have begun to lose control over the balance of the realm. Conflict and corruption between the most powerful nations have risen, impeding a concentrated effort of Soa the Creator's word.
With the balance of the Hearth teetering, the Divine Tree creates more dragons to fend off the imbalance and darkness. The El, a group of defected Lado, want to take advantage of this imbalance & siphon the power of the dragons spawning from the Divine Tree. Due to the growth of "monster" attacks on the mainland of Ahngea and surrounding locales, a cooperative mission is launched into seemingly unknown lands to track down a powerful dragon, in an attempt to restore balance to the realm.
◇ The human Dragoon Lineages have mostly survived since their founding, however, a few have lost their way. The Hearth began to lean into darkness during The First (and only) Dragon War.. A powerful blast from the Divine Dragon causes massive damage to the Divine Tree, impeding & slowing its ability to create the life needed to maintain balance. Soa's wrath of purging the Hearth of darkness encroaches.
◇ The great war; Due to a disagreement among the Winged over the enslavement of humans & the diverting of the "divine fate" of the Hearth. A Winged dictator Rose (aka The Queen Of Dragons; under dark control unbeknownst to all except her mother Acire) separated the God of Destruction's soul from its body in an effort to prevent the end of the realm from ever occurring, and tap into the God's power. Unknown She personally kept its soul in a Crystal Sphere, and drew magic power from it to maintain undisputed rule over all life. Her mother Acire created 6 Signet Sphere (or the Dragon Seal) to seal its body in the sky, becoming the Moon That Never Sets. In turn, Rose ordered her brother Dartagnan to create the Divine Moon Objects to destroy the Signets, should anything challenge her control.
After Rose's death, the Winged surrendered, and Acire gave the Humans the three Divine Moon Objects. The "gift" also symbolized the end of the war and their peace treaty with the Humans. The ancient Winged gave the Moon Gem to the Kingdom of Basille, the Moon Dagger to the future heralds of Alexandria, and the Moon Echo to the monarchs of Mille Sereau. The Humans accepted the offerings and believed the objects held power, although they were unaware of the nature of the power held in them. After the war, the Humans lived in peace and harmony.
Emperor Emperor Zaiid Fluir, the first human to slay a dragon and obtain its gift, led the charge against the Winged, accompanied by 6 other Dragoon. Since obtaining the Crystal Sphere, Humans have argued about what should be done with it.
The Crystal Sphere is destroyed by the Demi Demon in order to take control away from the debating Dragon Alliance. The Virage Embryo/God of Destruction's soul begins to wander the Earth, possessing a Human child, the Moon Child/Player Character, every 108 years in an effort to return to its body.
Millennia later, Emperor France Voltaire, under a Lado's manipulation, began taking orders from the "revived" Winged dictator Rose. The Emperor, now seeking the power of the Divine Dragon, mounts an assault on Peri territory; However, his forces are defeated. Upon crash landing and failed attempts at their mission, the emissaries become disbanded due to feuding. Essentially going their separate ways, off track from their original goal. This in turn caused the Emperor to start a war against his nephew, the Earth Dragoon "insert name" of the Kingdom of Basille & the other locations that held Divine Moon Objects. The Moon Gem is smuggled from the Kingdom of Basille into the hands of the reclusive Peri, in hopes they can protect it. The Peri leave the Moon Gem under the protection of the Divine Dragon and their Divine Order.
( A mission to destroy the Moon Child was taken up by the Dark/Shadow Dragoon/Demi lineage, who have secretly thwarted the attempts to rejoin the body and soul of the God of Destruction for the past 11,000 years. In Ahngea, this event has evolved into the legend of the Demi Demon.)
Some time later, a new band of emissaries are sent to investigate an incident known as Eres.
During a battle against the Ice Dragoon & Lado forces, Rok Piro is killed & his brother Raine Piro assumes his identity. During Rok's last moments with his brother, he transfers his Dragoon Spirit to Raine. Now that he had taken his brother's place, Raine seized the opportunity to finally be with Aasil Terra; and together they have a child, Ahria Terra. Upon discovering Zaine's transgressions, Aasil distances herself from Raine, but leaves Rokit Piro to his destiny in The Pyre. She feels The Pyre is still the best place in Eden for Rokit. Soon thereafter, Raine sends young Rokit to Acire Isle to be cared for and trained by Ophcet Chizpa.
Since assuming his brother's identity, Raine has become reclusive in attempts to avoid those who would know the truth. Ventus Rafaga has noticed the change, and has covertly begun his own investigation.
