Remodulated Transponder Beacon

This small, metallic orb shimmers with blue lights that flicker on and off. Pressing a button on the side opens a portal to the location of its twin, which was last seen in a room occupied by three mind flayers. The higher the elevation of the beacon and the less obstruction between it and the stars, the larger the portal becomes.
