Origin

Far beyond the continents of Midworld lies the Farlands, a land once beautiful land, now unlivable due to it's residents since time immemorial; the Dweorvin.

Dweorvins are a stout and resilient people with a strong pull towards alcohol and industry. They were once a united people who prospered under an enlightened monarchy, but had fallen from grace ever since their last lord died due to an assassination attempt. Many leaders tried to take control of the empire, which only caused them to be killed by others who wanted the throne, and eventually the once prosperous Dweorvin civilization fell apart into various industrial clans controlled by warlords.

This age of turmoil caused an extreme amount of both unregulated industry and unrestricted warfare, leading to the very homeland of the Dweorvin to become industrial wastes, where the very layout of the land could shift within the next few decades due to constant industrial warfare. The Dweorvin, once philosophers and artists, have devolved into militarist industrialists who simply wish to take from the world it's precious resources.

No Dweorvin knew that Midworld existed, and the very knowledge of a world rich in natural resources would risk it's natives to behold the mighty forces of the Dweorvin to take their land from them. Luckily, the only Dweorvin that know of Midworld are the refugees that escaped their blasted homelands with only chance and luck on their side. Many died on the vast oceans, but a few were able to find themselves in a new world for them, Midworld.

These Dweorvin, who renamed themselves as Dwarves, follow the enlightened philosophies that their people once had at the height of their civilization, and only wish for peace and prosperity. Wherever you find a dwarven fortress, you will find a hardy and caring populace that wishes to make good relations with the inhabitants of Midworld...

...However, it would be such a shame if the Dweorvin of the Farlands were to ever learn of Midworld's existence...
