A vast expanse of fauna overgrowth and muddied still water, spanning miles on end, the dead marshes has been the fate of many lost travelers and sea explorers alike. Dubbed the dead marshes due to the sheer amount of casualties inflicted upon expedition crews and voyage attempts into the marshes, as well as rumors of elven wraiths roaming the swamps in long-forgotten ruins. The southern dead marshes are the home of a rare and peculiar race of Tortles living deep within the marshland in a small prehistoric village named Kuqwi.
