17 - Icey Dreams & Little Frogs

The party go to Frederick Youngman's home to find the back door broken down. Inside, the Yule Cat has made quite a mess with bloodstains on the floor and scratch marks on the doors and walls. The party goes back to the Witch's Ritual Cave to rescue the villagers that were taken. Inside the cave, the party find the villages and quickly take them back to Hillfar. Zee (Zameia) Dusk runs to get the town cleric and together they only just make it back before dark, as they hear the yule cat prowl outside. Despite their efforts, one of the villages does not make it... 

That evening, Zee dreams about being in front of her bedroom door. She quickly turns around and runs to Neph's to try and find him, where she finds a shadowy figure who says...

"I could be more useful if you used me..."

Zee wakes, feeling no different to before so she writes down her dream in her journal. Rascar also has a dream, however, in his, he meets Valantyne in a snowy forest. During his dream, Valantyne gives Rascar a Golden Orb. Rascar wakes shortly after Zee so they discuss what they both saw. Rascar asks quite a number of questions and Zee deflects them as much as possible yet still tells him her hopes and dreams though still groggy from his partial sleep, Rascar doesn't seem to take it in. 

In the morning the party come down to find out that another villager, Lil Greg, has been taken in the night. The party sit and eat, discussing the situation so far: 

•  The Yule Cat only seems to attack during winter
• Winter Court? Is this why Mab wants to stop it? Is she being challenged? 
• Is/was the Yule Cat a guardian of the forest? Has it been corrupted by the witch? 

The party go back to the cave to find Greg however he isn't in the usual holding cell where the other villagers were found. Before walking down to the ice cave Rascar plays with the cauldron and becomes a toad...
