Earlier this week, a dragon was sighted in the Overlook district of Sharn. Our brave members of the Sharn Watch had received a tip off that it was coming, and built up a defense against this incoming attack.
Nominally, a group of mercenaries had advanced knowledge of this coming attack, and warned the people in Overlook that it was coming. When the dragon arrived, they were ready for it.
They also killed it in less than a minute, with little to no loss of life.
This sounds a little bit suspect to us at the Voice of Breland. How did these mercenaries know that this dragon was coming? They just happened to know exactly where it was going to land and who it was there to attack?
Here's a more likely (in our opinion) series of events; these mercenaries were out pillaging ruins and robbing graves, as is their wont, and they bit off more than they could chew and angered the beast. They then retreated to a populated area, and Overlook was their chosen battleground to face this dragon, abusing the fact that our brave officers are here to protect us. Some people have reported that monsters from the lower city also helped to defend the district.
So, these mercenaries also had gang ties. To add further doubt to the whole thing, the dragon's corpse was supposedly stripped down in record time and removed from the city.
What do you think about this dragon attack? Do you believe the story we've been fed by rags like the Sharn Inquisitive? Or is it more likely that this whole thing was engineered by a group of mercenaries to get their names out there, as these supposed dragon slayers? Was there even a dragon?
