Ravener's Maw is the heart demiplane of The Wild Heart. The Maw is enormous, far larger than most demiplanes, with a diameter of roughly 100 miles. It's a patchwork of untamed wilderness, with redwood trees that reach 400ft high, stretches of frozen tundra, scorched desert, and open prairie. All of these disparate biomes are teeming with life, hunting and predating on each other.
The demiplane has no defined border, and wraps around on itself. Going far enough in one direction will result in coming back on yourself. At its center, there lies an enormous crater containing a slumbering beast the size of a mountain. This crater is actually relatively safe, as most of the creatures in the Maw dare not approach the sleeping titan.
Periodically, the single moon in the sky of the Maw will shift to a blood red, driving all of the beasts within into a killing frenzy, drawn to the central crater. When this occurs, the sleeping titan in the demiplane's center awakens, and all of the planes denizens fight for the title of Tarrasque.
There are pockets of safety, hidden refuges, from which small communities of Gnolls and Zoanthropes shelter. They eke out a rough living, but they know to remain hidden during the Blood Moon.
