Hand of Valor

Description
The Hand of Valor venerable order, steeped in tradition but fallen from grace during the last century.
Once a prominent beacon of justice and chivalry, the Hand of Valor now exists in the twilight of its former glory, its tales of heroism and valor echoing faintly through the annals of time. This decline in prominence is not due to a lack of courage or capability among its members but rather the intrinsic nature of the order itself, which has inadvertently led to its obscurity in modern times, with the rise in stability in the Lowlands in particular.

Principles
Founded on principles that transcend personal glory or power, the Hand of Valor's members, primarily paladins, are bound by a code emphasizing selflessness, justice, and the protection of the innocent. Unlike other orders where deeds of valor lead to renown, the Hand of Valor seeks no recognition, believing true valor lies in service to the people.

Members forfeit personal rewards for their actions, instead contributing rewards back to the organization, which in turn channels these resources towards charitable endeavors decided by the Valor council.

Structure and Organization:
In its glory days, the Hand of Valor had many divisions, each operating from a stronghold with their own Council. But due to their dwindling success, the order now merely have but one stronghold left, called "Bastion".
At the heart Bastion and the Hand of Valor's organizational structure lies the Valor Council—a governing body comprising six esteemed members of the order. Each member of the council serves a term for a maximum of three years. During their term, they are responsible for managing the fortress, coordinating operations, and making decisions on behalf of the order.

The rotation of council members ensures an egalitarian and dynamic leadership, preventing any individual from becoming too entrenched in power and ensuring fresh perspectives to guide the organization forward. This system also fosters a sense of shared responsibility among members, as they work together to uphold the values and traditions of the Hand of Valor.

One of the most important responsibilities of the Valor Council is to decide how the organization's wealth and resources should be allocated towards charitable endeavors. Through careful deliberation and consensus-building, the council determines the most impactful ways to support the communities they serve, ensuring that the Hand of Valor remains a force for good in the realm.
