Celeste is a young Feline who was sold adopted when she was 3 years old by people she only ever knew as Master and Mistress. They were her, and many others, parental figures in this large villa. She along with the other kittens were trained from a young age in the magical arts, set to become full Witches in their 21st year of life with a Familiar finding Ritual.
All kittens were taught how to cull the animals on the Villa for blood, how to gather bark and how to tend to herbs. When each kitten turned 16 Master infused his magic directly into their right eye, changing its color and making it a magical focus, binding them closer to the Villa and their values.
Celeste is generally calm and a bit of an airhead. She can spend hours just gathering herbs and writing runes without realizing the time. She has sharp focus when she puts her mind on things though and will do something to completion, sometimes forgetting to eat or drink and having to be forced to stop to take care of herself by the other kittens. All kittens have been trained in deceit as well, and while it is not Celeste's preferred method of getting things done, she is very convincing when it is required. As they were all trained in deceit, they were also trained to never give their True Name to anyone not from the Villa, the public know her as Nyx.
Celeste is, from what she has been told, a purebred Blue Bicolor Ragdoll that Mistress acquired from a couple who owed a debt to the Villa. Celest, like the other kittens, was taught to never question what that debt was, or why a child was the price of paying it.
Celeste was very ill when the Ritual came around in her 21st year. She failed. Badly. Mistress was not pleased at all and Celeste was punished for not doing her duty to the Villa. Celeste spent the entire year leading up to the next Ritual date preparing and making sure she did not fall ill again, as she did not want to disappoint Mistress again oh god it was painful, please no more
During the Ritual in her 22nd year, Celeste was betrayed by one of the Villa's members and a throwing knife hit her back as she was almost done with the Ritual to summon her familiar from another plane. Because of this, she fell into the circle and crossed Dimensions, waking up healed and covered in blood, deep in a forest, with her familiar there to greet her.
