Dear Mum,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I have undertaken the quest that we spoke of in order to find and end the source of this accursed … um... curse. Also, I have made the acquaintance of several formidable allies that have already proven themselves in battle. Now we shall see if they can also prove themselves in the markets of our fair city as they have some small amount of coin to spend.
For our first night, I have taken up residence in a thoroughly disreputable inn. It is fascinating to see how squalidly the common folk live. It is necessary I am afraid as we have already found several potential leads to explore. I will let you know if we find anything useful as I am sure not all options shall bear equal fruit.
My funds are currently sufficient and no help is required. Please pass on my love to all and stay strong. We will mostly be out and about in the city although may take a short exploratory trip or two into the edges of the swamp. It is then that my expertise shall prove most beneficial I ween.
