Muls look like humans, but they are shorter and a little stouter. They seem resistant to magic. Even normal aura reading of them is blank. They don’t radiate the normal magic that all over creatures give off. They are lower than slaves. They have no protections under the law. They are always viewed as property.
Mul’s Fear of the storms
The Mul have a lot of tails about how they die when exposed to the great storm. They are almost instinctively frightened of the storm. They rarely go out into the storm. This is so strong that even though they are the lowest of the slaves, their owners almost never send them out into the storm. There seems to be a connection between their magic resistance and the storm.
During the storms they stay in the bunker. They tend to all huddle in the same area of the bunker and comfort each other. They always have serving and cleaning tasks within the bunker, and that helps distract them, but they are scared most of the time. They tend to dislike all bad weather, not just the storm.
Mul’s and magic
They know they are mostly immune to magic. They show no fear of it. If they are in a battle with magic they take on that magic with the same vigor as any other part. Spellcasters often know this and target them, as they are afraid of the Mul. Some experienced Mul know this and charge spellcasters.
Mul Traits
- Ability Score Increase. Your Strength Dexterity and Constitution scores are increased by 1
- Age. Muls reach adulthood around 72 and live for about 4 centuries.
- Alignment. Muls tend toward no particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.
- Size. Muls vary widely in height and build, from barely 4 feet to well over 5 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.
- Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
- Languages. You can speak, Common and Mul. It is a system of communication that other rarely learn. It has no script of its own.
- Magical Defense. Many spells and magics effects do not work on Muls. Muls do not have magical auras. Any spell that would affect them directly just have no effect. Spells that create something or an affect not directly on a person affect them normally. So, Charm Person and Cure Wounds, have no effect on them. Fire bolt affects them normally. All spells have a new property called Mul Effects. See the spell list for this information.
- Disrespectful Stealth. They are not hardly noticed in the civilized lands. People will just not notice they are even there. Now this has the opposite affect if they are ever in a place where Muls should not be. A guard house would never have a Mul within it. They will be approached and maybe even killed just for being there. If they are walking around town with their head down, they might not be seen. Even other players will not see them. They make all Stealth checks with advantage within a city. If they are in location off limits to Mul, they must make all Stealth checks at a disadvantage.
