Venatio
The Hunters, the Punishers, or the Tail fighters
The venator specialize in wild animal hunts and fighting. This includes running the beastias. Along with hunting and punishments they perform tricks with animals such as putting an arm in a cat’s mouth, riding a camel while leading large cats on a leash, making an elephant walk a tightrope. Technically these are not gladiator events, but they often do both fighting beasts, Beastias, and cirrus like entertainments.
Beastias
Beastias is a form of capital punishment in which the condemned person is killed by wild animals, usually by big cats. The act of damnation by beastias is considered entertainment for the lower classes. Mul who are free to go to the games, never show up to these executions.
Symbols:
Their banners are always large cats on a green field of color. The cats change a little and for those that know heraldry, the cat can tell them the specific school that the group comes from.
Weapons and Weapon combinations:
When fighting with a whip in one hand, some small dagger like weapon, including a Pugio in the other hand and only wearing light armor or piece meal armor, you gain the following benefits:
- You increase you AC by 1
- As a bonus attack you can try to knock a creature prone with the whip. You must perform a contested Dexterity (Acrobatics) against the other creatures Strength (Athletics).

- You are proficient with Whip, and Pugio
- You are double proficient with animal handling
