Mar’iya: Well, she is a spy. Her job is to sleep with me and talk to me from the pillow. If she cannot do her job, she will be punished. They want to know why I am here.

Oni: well if we can have another day, let’s take that day to decide. Maybe we can gain more insight into her.

Mar’iya: You are truly wise my friend. You must have been able to meditate while I slept. If you need to talk to me in my head, stumble a little as you walk. I should be able to notice it.

Oni: How do you know all this?

Mar’iya: I do not know, but I do.

A little wrapping of knuckles hit the door. Both men stopped talking.

Meshah turned to David, “That is enough. Who sent the girl in now? We were just starting to find something…”

With a flash of his hands, David extinguished the crystal. “Yes mistress. I believe no one sent her, she was probably summoned.”

Hurum looked to his wife, “Now we know for sure he is a Psion, we must do our best to keep our thoughts shallow. His motivations though, why is he here? I am concerned my lady Meshah, we were told by decree that if any house comes across the missing Vashir, that no aid must be given, and yet, you did.”

“I know this my husband, you have told it to me countless times. But… I feel that he and his ‘servant’ of the sun, is the only one that can help us retrieve our daughter. If Vashir dies in the process no one will be the wiser, if he succeeds… well then we will worry about that then. For now Ardeid is my primary concern.”

Meshah swirled the wine in her glass watching the legs form and disappear while she thought. No one said a word. Then she looked up to Sora, “Give this Pakku the position in the flying guard as promised. Also, remember when around Vashir be reluctant to give any of this information, they must feel like they are extracting this through intrigue. All of you, keep my daughter, and the other missing nobles in the forefront of your minds, Nothing else.”

Hurum took a deep breath, “We don’t know why the Thir-King wanted him banished…”

“Enough Hurum! If I hear one more word from you regarding him, I will have Sora take you to the cellar! He does not rule here! Vizier Abalach-Re, the ever watchful eye of Badna, does! May the moon grow new and never see your thoughts! My priority is to my daughter, and the fact you do not share in this concern…”

The blood drained from Hurum’s face to be replaced with a sheen of sweat. He looked down at his feet and mumbled “I am sorry, please forgive my insolence.”

Not giving it a second thought she turned to David and Sora, “Good we have our plans for now…”
