This category is for creatures that are considered monsters, as described on p. 7 of Monster Manual 5th edition. They are often frightening and usually dangerous. They are usually not natural creatures, and some are the result of magical experimentation or curses. Many creatures that do not fit other categories well are considered monstrosities.
