For those who had masks on were the first to notice. The pain they are enduring immediately stops, and the relief can only be described as euphoric. The masks themselves start to turn to dust. However, the dust does not float aimlessly into the space in front of you, it starts to collect and spiral towards where Tiamat lies.
For those on the ground, you notice a slight rumbling growing in sound and intensity. The wall of the temple starts to bend toward you. Is this happening, or is it a bad trip?
While panic and concern start to take hold, somewhere in your mind's ear, you hear beyond the temple walls, off in the distance, the screams of thousands of souls, nay, not screams, but cheers. Did you fulfill the prophecy? Did you accomplish this impossible goal?
Before you can answer that question, the ground in front of you rips open to what you suspect is a gateway to hell. The loud sounds of a furnace mixed with heat spew forth from it.
A magnificent and colossal hand reaches from the depths, picks up Tiamat, and cradles her in its palm.
In a loud voice, or completely silent and only heard in your mind, you hear, “You have had your fun Tiamat; it is now time for you to join us once again in Avernus!” – and with that, lowers her down into the depths.
Witnessing that and just a few more conscious thoughts, your realization of this being a one-way trip is finalized.
The temple collapses in on itself with you in it and is sucked into the chasm of hell.
Fade to Black
Last Visions:
Vishar: You find yourself soaring through the sky, free and, for the first time, unburdened by guilt and determination. To your surprise, you find that the wings you now have are covered in feathers and require no concentration to maintain. As you swoop up and dive down, wrapped in the exhilaration of this freedom, someone flies up next to you. “I knew you would succeed, my love….”
Oni: The weight of the water you carry is causing strain on your legs. Hard work, good work. Work you enjoy. That is when you realize that you are not carrying water but a child that clings to your back, giggling and laughing, “Faster Oni, Faster!” Following orders, with a rare smile spreading across your face, you pick up the speed and top a lush green hilltop. What you see there stops you in your tracks. Herman skitters up your arm and says into your ear, “A well-deserved reward, my friend.” Laid out in front of you is a scene of joy and happiness. The Yavapai, prosperous and happy, laughing and singing. A fresh kill of a Jankx rotating and cooking in the center of the camp. That is when your eyes focus on one in particular. Paulu waving you in. Music to your ears when you hear your mother say, “Come Oni, stop your playing! You have brought magic back to this work, you must now teach us how to use it!”
Ixen: Gold and Fire sprawls out in front of you; you move slowly through it, heavy and deliberate. In fact, much heavier than normal. You look down at your feet, and with a joyful surprise, you see… wait, you must be sure! You find a well-polish shield among your treasure and appear down at your reflection. And looking back at you is nothing but a full-grown, mystical and magnificent gold dragon.
David: Minutes, hours, days, or years that go by? It is hard to tell. All the voices have manifested into bodies. All vying for your attention. Past, future, different realities, all converging on one location. You. Too much to handle… well, so you thought. But after a time, who knows how much, you start to figure it out. You start to communicate with the voices in a meaningful manner. You start to make sense of everything you are told and are able to put it together. Poorly at first, but something to grasp on to. And a few seconds later, or was it a millennium, you see another familiar face, Mother Dusk. “Who knew my replacement would be one such as yourself, but I am ready and appreciate the respite. As you are still learning, a final parting gift I give you….” and among all the voices and tugging, you see a path form in front of you. At first, difficult to follow, just one step in front of another. The beings are relentless in getting your attention, but they do part in Infront of you as you take these uneasy steps. And with each step you take, it gets a little easier. You finally see this path she has guided you to and where it ends. A time when you can see yourself holding hands on a sunset beach. You can see the scaly fingers entwined with yours, and that is when your uneasy steps turn into a sure-footed run.
Nomli: You bring the pick down hard and sure. Pieces of rock explode back from the location you made contact. This feels good. Feels right. Something felt different, though, you don’t feel the hot air brushing against your face or the scratchy skin from your every drying scalp. This feels right too, as you look down to see what you feels so odd. And there you see it, which brings on tears of precious water. A beard, like your ancestors had, long and braided thickly. “Stop your reminiscing Nomli” you hear from behind you. You turn to see who called out at you, and you see another that looks like you. A smile on his face, and that is when you see where you are perched. You stand on a piece of a magnificent statue placed inside what could only be an underground palace. And Dwarves, hundreds of them all working and singing. And the best part? Not one human.
Arnia: You find yourself standing next to your Great grandmother, looking down at thousands of people. The woman that shares your namesake looks back at you and smiles, “The gods had some doubt, but I never did. You wielded my sword better than I ever could have. Words cannot convey how proud I am of you. And now the world is alive and well. Look down at all the people and what they are doing.” You turn your head to see the smiles and glee on all the people as they celebrate a new temple that was been raised. On it, the symbol of two Dawns, and the words inscribed in gold just below it… “Arnia, our savior”
Transition:
You are now gods to be worshiped by the people of this world. You are to come up with what kind of God you are.
Future options:
1) Play this world in the future, where your old character is a god in it
2) Play Avernus to go into the depths of hell to finish the B.
