The Outset: Day One of The Sharawood Investigation-- Alicia

This is Alicia Crescent, the appointed representative of the Full Moon Coven. This journal serves as a record of my adventures in the lands of the Shaar and beyond. It will also serve as a useful record of unique interactions and things of interest.

The early hours of this investigation were...a mess to be honest. While I did get a lot of information from my "tests", I was not prepared for the level of strange supernatural occurrences taking place within!

Tracing back a bit, I find my companions thoroughly capable but our cohesion as a working unit leaves something to be desired. The Bone Lord is knowledgeable but easily gets sidetracked by the remains of his ancestral history. The Knight of Myrkul has a deep font of historical knowledge and knows the forest like the back of his hand, but his abrasive demeanor can be taxing to deal with. The two Night Riders are easily the most approachable, but I fear their secretive nature may prove to be a detriment.

There are matters I need to work on as well. While the fog cloud was a decent enough test to gauge visual acuity and provide cover against unseen terrors, it may have put my competence in question. I think setting a precedent for clear communication is the way forward and I will relate that to the group once we safely set up camp.

I also have some thoughts on the vivid shared hallucination we encountered near the old battlefield. Perhaps the words of Xavarathimus have some weight in gaining a more wider perspective of the conflict that left these woods in a dire state! Clearly, a battle between Fae, Undead and Mortals is not to be taken lightly!

Till next time,

The Outset: Day One of The Sharawood Investigation: Addendum-- Alicia Crescent

I may have neglected to mention the wealth of baubles, both magicial and non, that had been gifted to us by our superiors. The "Honored We's"  contributions, however, puzzle me greatly, especially that "candle" that was amongst our possessions. A candle that traps souls. I have a great many questions for them when we get back, if I don't pry some answers from my companions beforehand.

On that note, the grimoire that the Priest obtained has caused me great consternation. I'll be the first to admit the eagerness to show off my resistance to it's biting frost had backfired tremendously. An error I -will- not repeat. My life is much too precious to be wasted on foolishness; not while I still have my duties to uphold. I will also make sure to bring this up before resting tonight. I need to clear the air and gain their trust, not out of malevolence, but for our survival. It is clear that this forest does not suffer fools and discord. I will take better care in the future. Hopefully my desperation has not caused an untenable rift to form in our group so early in its formation...

With hope for the future,

Alicia Crescent
