Marie's a large girl who hails from the heart of The Hammerlands, having spent most of her time working in her family-run business as an Alchemist until recently. It was due to an unfortunate mishap with some rare potions that Marie began growing far beyond any of the rest of her family over the years, until eventually she was far too large to reasonably work within the store any more! Instead she served as a friendly face outside it, ushering passersby into the store and serving as a living advertisement, always happy to meet and care for new people.
Over time though her demeanor changed slightly. The size seemed to be getting to her head, and she openly manhandled and doted upon those smaller than her. She started seeking out more power, branching out from alchemy to experiment with her latent magical abilities, and using these to go on small adventures here and there, venturing farther and farther from home. When a group of bandits rolled into town and were ransacking stores, Marie happily put them in their place, pinning them beneath her massive frame until they apologised and the guard arrived to arrest them, earning her quite the reputation amongst the people!
When she found out that her friend Talis has been kidnapped by some dragon cultists far off, this felt like the perfect excuse for her to leave home and venture out into the world, to save her friend and see what other fun sights and people to see there were out there.
And to see if there was perhaps any more power to be gained...
