The House was established after the Treaty of the North when the king gave one of his victorious generals, Frena Karna nearly half the land that formerly belonged to the House of Sleth. Today her descendants rule over the minor Houses that were forced to swear allegiance to them as strangers in a strange land one of ice and blizzards. The Karna still pride themselves on being elite warriors and over the last decades have prioritised dapating their military style to their new snow bound home adapting their uniforms and methods. Today their distinctive armour style marks them out on the Tundra as the feared opponents of bandits and smugglers.
The House banner shows a blade in the Karna style and a spade. They say it shows although they won the land through conquest they now intend to build that land back up, the eagle eyed will notice, however, that on the banner the blade remains fractionally higher than the spade suggesting the art of war is still the House's highest priority.
