Tradition

Couples from the Boreals culture wear the house key as a necklace, a synonym for a person from this culture to be committed. This is because the house is a gift that the state gives to citizens who get married.

At the June festivals, people jump over the bonfire, it's said to bring good luck, things like that... but in reality they're just drunk people doing stupid things

The couple that married last before the event guides a goat from somewhere in the forest to the main square of the village - a trip that takes several hours. There, apart from a big, very drunk party, they hold an auction in which you can buy the goat. The animal regularly goes for several thousand euros. If you are the lucky one to get it - a very coveted position - you can basically do nothing with it, but keep it until the next year. People get drunk and bid like crazy, because it is seen as a great honour to be the goat keeper. This goes so far that some families even hide car keys from family members that are known to get a bit too drunk and loose with money.

San Juan de la Vega is most noted for its unique exploding sledgehammer festival as a tribute to "San Juanito", which takes place every February. Locals affix homemade explosives to heads of hammers.[1] The explosives were made with matches, sulfur and fireworks. attaching a mix of sulphur and chlorate to the ends of sledge hammers which they then smash against rail beams. Today, this is mainly done in a field outside the town.

National Sleepy Head Day (Finnish: Unikeonpäivä; Swedish: Sjusovardagen) is a yearly celebration in Finland observed July 27. This holiday is related to the legend of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus, but rather than a religious festival, it is more of an informal celebration.[1] The tradition of the Sleepy Head Day traces back to the Middle Ages, when the belief was that the person in the household who slept late on this day would be lazy and non-productive for the rest of the year.[2] In the old days, the last person sleeping in the house (also dubbed as the "laziest") could be woken up by using water, either by being thrown into a lake or the sea, or by having water thrown on them.[3]

When you date one person, you date the whole family. Like literally, you go on separate dates with mom, dad, siblings, etc. That way, everyone is sure you’re a good person for their son/daughter/sibling/etc, and vice versa.

Virgin Bells (bells that have never been rung) are more powerful than regular bells
