Controlling the high ground allows you a better vantage point on your opponent, allowing you to fire on them at a better angle, including over cover. When targeting a creature with ranged weapons from an elevation of 10ft or higher, you can make the attack with an advantage. If the target has gone prone, however, the attack is still at a disadvantage.
