Intro:
Katt is from a small village in the forest of Krynn. She is close to her family and loves her community. She's never had much desire to leave her village, but when she heard that her close friend had passed away she knew she must set forth on an adventure to say her final goodbyes.
Katt and her village are pretty isolated from the outside world, apprehensive of strangers, Katt is slow to trust and hasn't met many other people who were not fellow Kinders.
Story:
Katt had spent the last couple of weeks enjoying her free time before she would have to help her family with their fall harvest. She had recently finished her education and finally had time to run around with her friends, looking for trinkets, and planning her biggest prank ever! She had been playing pranks on her family friend Ispin for as long as she could remember and she was excited for him to return to the village for her 18th birthday celebration. He had promised to bring her the best trinket yet! (Ispin loved a good-natured prank and would always give Katt one for successfully pranking him.)
Katt was up on the great hill, overlooking her beloved village when she saw a rider coming towards the village. It wasn't often that strangers visited, so she quickly gathered her things and sprinted home. As she got to her house she saw the stranger at her door and she quickly hid from view. As the stranger began to talk she saw her parent's faces changing and knew she needed to get closer so she could hear. Katt slowly approached her front porch, being as stealthy as she could, ducking behind a nearby shrub.
Stranger "I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to make the trip to his funeral. All the information you need is in this letter"
Katt saw the stranger hand a letter to her parents, bid his goodbyes, and leave. Once he was gone Katt ran inside, finding her family sitting around the kitchen table, looking somber. She went up to her mom who quickly pulled her into a hug and through shuttered breath learned that their family friend, Ispin had died. Katt looked at her family and asked if they would be going to the funeral, knowing the answer before it left her lips. No one in her family had ever traveled far from the village. In fact, nobody in the village had ever traveled far from the village.
By the next day, Katt had made up her mind. She would venture out on her own to go say goodbye to her friend. When she told her family they broke out into hysterics. How could she want to leave, how would she get there, would she come back!?
Of course, she would return home, but something bigger was calling her and she knew she must go. She packed up her things and after many tearful goodbyes, she headed out.
