Dear Salion. I miss you my old friend. I do not know if I ever told you how much your mentoring meant to me and I daresay you would be shocked to see how much I have grown as a Druid. Truly Chislev is generous to have brought you to me when I was at my darkest moment and then to have given me such power as I now weald. These gifts though, I think do not come without a price to be paid.
By now I'm sure you know the land is beset by war. Skulking dragon men and their lackeys lay waste to the land itself, which you know Chislev will not tolerate. We must rise up to protect the wild lands before they are laid barren, salted under by the blood and bile of war. Where are you Salion? I have sent messages to our usual location and even a few birds directly to you, should you be in range. With the towns all locking down, I fear there will soon be no outgoing messages at all other than what the animals will deliver for me. Come to Kalaman when you can. Your wisdom will be of great help and your smile would warm my heart. If you cannot come here, then perhaps you can seek out Cudgel for I have also sent messages to her that have not been returned.
We will leave the city soon on errands most important. If you come while I am away, Mayor Raven can point you to my Grove where you will always be welcome. Be careful of the inhabitants of Kalaman though. They will pull you into the politics and evils inherent in every city. Raven is a good sort who I think you can trust. Derret, a sad little knight, and Tattina Rackeldust, an elder gnome tinkerer both also seem as trustworthy as they get and can help you until we return. I'll not get into details, but be wary of the local thieves guild. They have ensnared one of my companions already and I fear their distraction will prevent us from more important tasks. Already the delays wear on me and I fear I shall soon have to leave my companions behind though their strength and companionship would be sorely missed. This task is too important to leave undone though and I will do my best to convince them...
Let us think of more positive things. Should I see you again, I can't help but think it may be me who has become the teacher and you the student. I hope Chislev has already opened her arms to you and given you powers akin to mine. If not, let us find a way to make it so. Seeing you with divine power would bring such joy that I wouldn't even mind being in this stinking city, helping to figure out which thief or politician gets to pretend to be in charge. Oops, I did say more positive things. I have reached out to the woods-people nearby. The fishermen, the loggers, the scouts, and even those who frequent the forests in search of berries and medicinal plants. We must come together under Chislev's watchful eyes. Learn together and become powerful. Thin leave this lice ridden mass of humanity and take the fight to the enemy that would dare the hubris to destroy nature! Damn. Positive things...positive things...Oh yes, did I mention I have more gold than I have ever seen before? It turns out hanging out with thieves isn't all bad. Maybe I can buy my own forest or something.
