Tempus

Lord of Battles, The Foehammer

The main Sancstorylian deity of War, and War alone. Tempus represents both sides of war, both the honorable and the horrible. The atrocities and the battles, as well as the conviction and goals of the soldiers that fight it. He never holds back and only cares about war and the glory it brings. However, he also isn't needlessly cruel, and while fickle at times, never treacherous. One would think that he would have an adversarial relationship to Eldath, the sancstorylian goddess of peace, but that is not the case. While Tempus considers her naive, he nonetheless has a deep respect for her; and it makes sense, since a war without peace at the end is only meaningless slaughter. Due to this reason, worshipers of Tempus are explicitly forbidden from defacing any temples and shrines to Eldath and hurting her worshipers, and he violently punishes those that do.

While a very popular god, many people worship Tempus simply because they need to, due to living in a violent area or having had violent lifes, and take inspiration in his strength and conviction. Soldiers also often take inspiration from him.
