Artemis is the Olympian goddess of hunting and wild beasts, but also interestingly enough, of childbirth and the protection of children; which is interesting, because she's also a virgin goddess. This can likely be traced back due to the own complications her mother Leto went through when giving birth to both her and her twin brother Apollo. Most commonly, however, she is worshiped by hunters and those that enjoy the wilderness; a mindset that she shares. Much like how her brother is sometimes associated with the sun, she is sometimes associated with the moon.
