We return to the game, as the party arrives in Bayanbürd, after their fight with the servants of a lich the day before. There, the party decided to stay over at the local tavern, the Camel's Feedbag, a humble tavern and inn owned by a Goblin grandma. After thinking about whether to go directly to Rirdrin Yerentai's tower, the party decided to head to Züunur first, as it's the easier route, even if it's longer.
On the way to their next stop, the party found a strange oasis that they weren't informed about. Volk Lesnoy pushed his head into the water, and then looked around, killed a bird, and, after being questioned about it, went an hour eastwards with the party in tow to bury it. M.U.61 figured that it may have been a Geas-spell, and the oasis resembled something he heard about; a sentient oasis with the mind of an ancient wizard, with esoteric goals; this may have been the cause of Volk's strange behaviour.
As the party continued to travel, avoiding an ambush by Dune-like mimics in the following night and fighting them off, they did eventually see a ruin in the distance, a bit out of the way they were going. With Volk's urging, the party decided to go check it out, and found out that it probably was the ruins of an old magic school, dedicated to Boccob, god of magic and wizardry; however, sadly, it seemed like everything magical or worth taking had already been taken from this ruin.
The party continued their way further, eventually deciding to make camp at sunset; but Cerviel noticed some small voices from where the party was about to settle down. This turned out to be an ambush by blue Kobolds, intending to rob the party blind. A fight was had, and the Kobolds' master, a Blue Dragon, joined the fray, and the resulting combination of the kobold leader, the kobold spellcasters and the dragon's breath weapon resulted in many in the party, particularly M.U.61 and Suzzaeth getting heavily injured; with the latter even going unconscious at one point, and the former JUST avoiding that fate. Thankfully, with Cerviel's and Limni Diluvi's healing abilities, the party was able to make due.
Eventually, Volk, Suzzaeth and Limni managed to jump or teleport on top of the dragon and were able to coordinately take it down; though not without Limni falling off and landing 30 ft down at one point, and the dragon taking Volk down into the sand as it tried to borrow away from safety. Nonetheless, Volk was able to, with the help of a potion of Cloud Giant Strength, eventually deal with the dragon, slaying it; all the while both were halfway buried in the desert sands.
