Features
This massive Citadel sits atop the Anders Mesa. With only one road up and its geographical location, this makes it a difficult target for invasion. It is also the oldest known city and the home of many powerful kings. Bastion typically stays out of regional conflicts and serves as a mediator for conflict resolution. Hofnael presides over the region and watches over the city, along with the Bastion army.
The castle has statues of numerous Angels from all over the kingdom as a welcoming gesture to travellers. Waterfalls and rock faces are mingled amidst the architecture as well. Gothic architecture and statues are all around the city.
Districts
Stronghold, has stood for over a millennium. Constructed when the original Crusader Army invaded what was to become West Crown against the occupying Maw Horde. It was here that the last stand against the invading Demons was fought and eventually won. The Armoury is found here.
The Ramparts, scarred from years of assault during the Diablo War the Ramparts now resemble bony spine-like growths. The views from the Ramparts are breath taking from it's high position from atop Anders Mesa.
The Dungeons, when the citizenry fled the city and retreated into the Stronghold they were accommodated in the Dungeons. When the Dungeons were breached from below by the Diablo Horde the place became a tomb for many. The upper parts are still occupied by the citizenry but they are now protected by warded gates. Plenty of opportunities are available for Adventurers to go beyond the gates and clear out the monsters that now lurk.
The City lies mostly in ruins, and black smoke belches into the air as fires still burn. Winged demons soar over it looking for prey. Small isolated communities do exist and supply runs from the Stronghold keep them going.
Artisan's Square, which was once one of the many squares of Bastion is now an isolated community of 200+ survivors. with no space at the Stronghold, the survivors have made good of a bad situation. Weekly supply runs are received bringing much-needed supplied.
Back Ally, is a community clustered around what was once one of the worst districts in the city. Home to some 125+ survivors it even has an Inn, The Pit.
Basilica, at the heart of the temple district, is the remains of the once great Basilica of Bastion, where some of the most brutal conflict was seen. Now completely enclosed the Basilica is so large over 500 survivors live here.
Old Town Sewers, a subterranean community of 300+ survivors is found living in the Old Town Sewers. They have created homes, workshops, social areas and even a couple of Taverns. They will always try to get Adventurers to clear out more sections for them to expand into.
Other Place of Note
The Armory, not only is it a supply depot it also serves as a Tavern to the Militia, adventurers and citizens of Bastion.
