Wood elves were the last of the elven subraces to appear on Aurora. The wood elves are the descendants of elves who retreated to the deepest woodland sanctuaries during the Desolate Cascade. Unlike the majority of the dispossessed survivors of the Cascade who abandoned their homelands, the ancestors of the wood elves stuck to their ancestral holdings and swore to never wage war on their kin again. They formed tightly knit, networked communities, leaving behind high magic and becoming closer to nature.
