The Crunchies are an ethnicity that developed within the Kingdom of Ozarka.

Etymology & Origin

The name originates from Environmentalist slang, in which "Crunchy" was someone who radically altered their lifestyle for environmental sustainability. 

King Felix I's Ozarkan Technological Sustainability Decree was phrased in elegant language, enough that it inspired many residents of the Kingdom to embrace it enthusiastically. Foremost in this enthusiasm were those who considered Felix a prophet sent to save humanity with his teachings. They enthusiastically confiscated any technology they found, destroying it or remitting it to the authorities per the Decree. They themselves assumed a Neolithic lifestyle. 

Note, however, that some people are Crunchies even at the time of this writing. It's simply a lifestyle choice, but in this scenario it has numbers behind it.

Location

I don't have any specific spots for the Crunchies yet, but it is safe to assume they're dotted around the remote areas of the Kingdom.

Culture

Crunchies have an at-best icy relationship with any outsiders. To them, users of any technology are heathens, except for those sent to save us from technology.

Crunchies were made a protected group during the reign of KingFelixIV. Locals may not disturb them or encroach on their territory. This led to some anger among the populace, making Crunchies an unpopular presence.
