A Hyperscribe is a practitioner of Hyperscription (Sigil Magick). They are also called Scribes.

Appearance & "Dolling Up"

Dolling Up is how Hyperscribes tend to stick out socially, if they want to. As people who channel power through symbols, they benefit from having those symbols visible to everyone they interact with. Those who interact with them may lose their attention completely in a curlicue on their bodice, and not merely because of what's behind it*.

Symbols can be displayed covertly or overtly all over their persons through any aspect of their appearance - pattern, shape, color, etc. Their clothing tends towards garish and complex, which they may accentuate with flairs of existing styles or fashions. Their general grooming is similarly vibrant, frequently to the point of elaborate face-painting, makeup, masks, veils, you get it. They like to accessorize, because it makes them powerful.

Dolling Up is why certain societies who have a more authoritarian outlook on Hyperscription tend to ban elaborate clothing. Yeah, grey jumpsuit land is a thing, Somewhere.
