Tendency Toward Sentience

Advanced races who have the ability to explore multiple dimensions freely have identified a pattern: the lemmas of mitosis tend toward timelines that lead to the development of sentient creatures. The occurrence of timelines with complete extinction of sentience is far lower than would be expected if the momentous events identified as the flashpoints of mitosis were sentience-agnostic.

In simplest terms, this means that dimensions will generate in patterns that lead to the development of intelligent species, almost as if that were the purpose of the pattern. 

This is thought to explain the apparently highly improbable parallels of Earth B and Earth B, for example.
