A Gnolithwave is a microwave that cooks food in fantastic ways by enslaving a Gnolith inside a Torment Matrix. Gnolithwaves were a popular consumer good for a short while, inspiring a culinary craze centered around Dolceveeta as an ingredient in a variety of forms and roles. Eventually, some Gnoliths managed to contact each other through various means, and collaborated to retaliate against their enslavers by transforming the food into spectacularly infectious carcinogens. This is what we now call Cancerpocalypse.
