Kineater Gorge - Locations

The Kineater Gorge is a massive ravine that stretches deep into the earth, reaching down to the Underdark. It is said to have been formed by a flying fortress that crashed long ago, and over time it has become home to all manner of dangerous creatures. The sides of the gorge are steep and treacherous, making it difficult to traverse or explore.

The giants who once roamed the lands around Winterport were known to hunt and eat smaller creatures, hence the name "Kineater." The last of these giants have been driven down into the gorge by the goliaths and other inhabitants of the region. However, even with the giants gone, the Kineater Gorge remains a perilous place filled with deadly creatures.

The Fireslayers guild has taken it upon themselves to safeguard the entrances into the Underdark that lie within the Kineater Gorge. They are a group of the bravest and most skilled goliath warriors who are renowned for their fearlessness and their unbreakable spirit in the face of danger.

The drow city of Zebalsen can be accsesed trough some of the many tunnels under the groge

The cave systems bellow the Kineater Gorge is divded in Four underground regions:

1. The Torch Mines where the city of Winterport have most control and where the citys mines lay.

2. The Giant Chasms, a natural barrier of deep underground ravines that is somtimes crossed with badly maintained bridges. The fires of Giant camps can be seen in the depths of some of the casms. A rapid river flows in this area.

3. The Fungal Groves is a lush and dangerous area where the moist air of melted snow meet the natural volcanic hot springs. The local Mushrooms are exotic and dangerous. The area serves as a border for the Drow realms

4. Drow Territory. A underground lake where the rapid river end is the start of the reqognized drow realm. Vast tunnels, unnatural glowing fungus and a sense of claustrophobia shows visitors that they have arrived in the Underdark. The drow city of Zebalsen can be accessed trough some of the many tunnels by the lake.
