The Land:

The land surrounding the skyland city of Threemouth is a rocky and frightening range of mountains. The three largest peaks are what give this range its name. The Three Peaks, each with a cave entrance at its peak. The Three Mouths. These peaks are magical in nature, each cave has a connection to three of the elemental planes. Northernmost Peak, Plane of Water. Middle Peak, Plane of Earth. Southernmost Peak, Plane of Fire. These peaks are known as Watermouth, Earthmouth, and Firemouth.

Trained men and women stand guard outside each mouth to protect the city from excursions of elemental threats. They keep any creature from entering the city, killing without hesitation. The fear of the elemental planes as a place of pure magic is truly real. Scholars across the city work to find a way to seal the mouths.

The City:

The city of Threemouth is a pretty standard city in the Unincorporated territory of Estir. It is a relatively sizable city with a healthy trade industry. The infusion of elemental energies into the skyland the city lies upon allows for rarer resources to be extracted from the land around the city.

The People:

The people of Threemouth, like most cities, are mostly human. There is a sizable halfling and elf population but from there it is a smattering of most other races. The people here live without racial tension, and in a mostly tenuous and tense relationship with their government.

The Government:

The government of Threemouth is an elected Governor who governs with a council of nobles and landowners from within the city. It is widely believed that the Governor is simply in the pocket of the nobles and is a coward when it comes to standing up to their manipulation.

This is true, the nobles and landowners of the city all control the council and governor, passing laws and reforms that meet their needs over the needs of the citizens.

The Governor of Threemouth is currently a human woman named Vengella Coldreaver. Vengella Coldreaver was born to the lower middle class of Threemouth but earned a place amongst the noble and rich by doing what she does best, making friends. Vengella Coldreaver is a kind young woman who has spent her whole life with one goal in mind, leading her city to greatness. She seeks to bring harmony to the lower, middle, and upper class through leadership and peace. She takes pride in the means which she ascended to leadership, without hurting anyone around her. However, the council members she has befriended and that put her in her position, are in fact using her. They have been using her since the very start, taking advantage of her kindness. Whenever criticism of inequality is brought up, she is pointed to as the representation that these issues are either solved or in the process of being solved.

Vengella, naive as she is, always sees the best in her peers and believes that she can make legitimate reform in the city of Threemouth. Recently, Vengella has begun to suspect that change will not be possible without upheaval of the council. She has begun to radicalize her ideals, and sees that her once peaceful ways may not be the way forward. This will advance with the help of our group of adventurers.

The Council consists of 12 members, as follows.

  • Vii Forebrand: Human Male
  • In Duvursk: Human Male
  • Hufisu Zepvoltrueld: Human Female
  • Lufroha Najucrahd: Human Female

Criminals:

Threemouth is rife with criminal activity, especially due to the city’s export of rare elemental materials which can be used in technologies and medicine. The Agents of Avarcus and the local thieve’s guild clash on occasion, leading to bloody conflicts in the street, or scarily silent assassinations.

Trade:

The town engages in healthy trade relationships with the surrounding kingdoms, providing niche exotic goods that are wanted all around for different means such as technology and medicine.

Districts:

The city is divided into a few districts which inform the class divide amongst its citizens. There is the Peak District which is the wealthiest district of landowners and nobles at the base of the Threemouth Peaks.

Then the Trade District, where lower and upper class meet to buy and sell wares. This is also where the governmental buildings are.

Then there is the Lower District, where most of the city holds their residence as well as where the city’s only Skyport is.
