Flames

Lore of Flames

The Lore of Flames is one of destruction. Where Celestial can destroy faith, Flames destroy all else. This is the Sword of the First House.


Divine Retribution


Bring a divine doubt upon your enemies

Action: Instant

Duration: Hours/Days equal to Lore of Flames

Range: Miles equal to Patagon

Faith: 5


Dramatic Failure: As failure, but you overheat. Take resistant bashing damage equal to your paragon. The heat doesn't hurt you but the water in your system starts to evaporate. Can only be healed with water intake.

Failure: The Invocation fails as the flames pay you no heed.

Success: The Invocation succeeds, the affected area gains the Extreme Heat Condition. 

Exceptional Success: As success, but everyone who you choose is immune to this condition and the duration may change to days rather than hours.

Torment: Instead if nearly a hot environment you cause more destruction, meteors, explosions, wildfires all suddenly Become rather prevalent in the area. You have no control over how this happens but the area will become scorched.


•• Hellfire


It is not enough to simply call to the Flames. You must become one yourself.

Action: Instant

Duration: Scene

Range: Yards equal to Paragon

Faith: 3


Dramatic Failure: As failure, but also you or the target take the deprived condition with the resolution of arson.

Failure: The inner Flames ignore your Invocation.

Success: Your target become flames. The intensity and size both start at one. For every Paragon you have you may increase one of these. The target also gains Immunity to their own flames from this ability.

Exceptional Success: As success, but the bonus from Paragon increases is doubled.

Torment: The fire changes type as long as that type of fire can exist. This is more an ascetic choice but they may also choose grant Immunity to their fire specifically.



••• Intensity Control


Most normal Flames can only get up to intensity four. You have no such limit however

Action: Instant

Duration: Scene

Range: Line of Sight

Faith: 1


Dramatic Failure: As failure, but gain the Shaken condition as the flames overwhelm your mind.

Failure: The flames intensity doesn't change.

Success: You may increase or decrease the intensity of fire equal to your Paragon. The lack of a flame is considered Intensity 0 and will start off as size 1 always.

Exceptional Success: As success, but the fire grants you the Energized Condition.

Torment: The Intensity can be changed in such a degree that you may change if the fire does Lethal damage to Bashing or Aggravated.


•••• Control the Blaze


Tame the fires in an area and bend them to your will.

Action: Instant

Duration: Scene

Range: Line of Sight

Faith: 0


Dramatic Failure: As failure, but the flames tease you. Gain the Obsession condition with regards to watching the blaze.

Failure: The blaze doesn't listen to your command.

Success: You may adjust the size of a fire equal to your paragon, unlike most incantation this can be stacked however. You may only directly control your paragon size at a time. Any more is an uncontrolled flame.

Exceptional Success: All who are burned by flames you Control gain the Immobilized Tilt as fear takes over and you  take the Inspired condition.

Torment: A blaze you control is normally limited to Size. Ignore this and control all the blazes you see.

(Passive)


Gain complete Immunity to Fire and the Extreme Heat Tilt.

(Replaces Halo of Destructive Embers if you aren't of the First House)


Flames and heat deal bashing damage instead of lethal. Every 2 hours counts as 1 hour for the Extreme Heat Tilt and after an hour you lose the entire tilt rather than it lowering the tilts negative.
