Death of Izel Perez and Ilay Klein

Death
March 1993

Ilay Klein, the hero known as Iridium and one of the seven members of the Taskforce, passed away at the age of 86 in her home due to complications with her significant use of powers in her younger years. Three days later, her husband of almost 50 years, Izel Perez, the hero known as Golden Jaguar and another member of the Taskforce, passed away at the age of 89 of a broken heart. Both being buried next to each other in the Brownbridge Army Cemetary as a thank you for their service. Ilay's suit was put next to a replica of her husband's in the Taskforce headquarters, and Izel's bracers were given to Leonard Sumner, the hero known as Gavel, with the instructions for him to find a suitable replacement for the Golden Jaguar mantle.

Following their deaths, the remaining three members of the Taskforce covertly published all records of their military operations throughout the years. Revealing to the world various aspects of it such as aliens, and the fact that two individuals with extra-terrestrial powers saved the world numerous times. Or that there is a difference between the origins of powered individuals. It was the deaths of Izel Perez and Ilay Klein that brought the REPORT out of the shadows and into the light.
