While they are called angels, they are not a true celestial. Instead they have as much divinity in their blood as some of the most powerful priests and paladins, but rather than coming from devotion, they are born with it.

An angel is just like an orc, elf, or human... and they are nigh indistinguishable from them. The only difference between a human with and without an angellic blood is an angel is supernatural physical perfection. They tend to be the embodiment of pure physical perfection for their normal ancestry. An angellic human tends to have a perfectly symmetrical face, flawless skin, and straight teeth. While an angellic orc will have large and sharpened tusks and their tattoos will never fade on their skin.

Bead of Divinity

Angels are those blessed with the bead of divinity within their souls, gifted with the divine power and appearance of the angelic warriors from the War of the Gods. There are two distinct kinds of angels, the first are those directly descended from the angelic warriors. Their bloodline can be traced back to a celestial who came to the world either recently or in eras past, and that divine power has been diluted by mortal blood. While the others are chosen of the gods, a divine being gave a mortal a seed of divinity in order for them to do work in their name.

Angels can be of any race, with the term specifically referring to any mortal with divine blood. Thus, angels are heavily revered among religious circles, with dedicated priests praying for their children to be a blessed angel. Though there are two sides to every coin, as an angel's divine blood can be just as useful in the hands of those with more malevolent machinations. Those who seek to do wrong in the world will hunt down angels to use their blood, skin, or other body parts for magical purposes, or to corrupt the angel and warp their divine power for their own purposes.
