Mapneas

The Matron of Nature
God

Mapneas is a god of amazing beauty, much like the natural world around her. She may actually be old, but she looks like one of the youngest of the gods in the pantheon. In artwork, the Matron of Nature is usually shown as physically part of nature. She is either sitting on the forest floor or touching the trees and plants around her, in the effort of trying to connect with nature. Most of the time, vines are shown wrapping around her legs, keeping her to the ground.

She is a woman with pale green skin and is wrapped with plants and other natural things. Birds, Squirrels, and other small beasts are gathered around her at almost all times. Most artwork depicts her in a swamp, as it shows the two major forces of nature she rules over, plants and water. Her hair is a darker green, and her eyes are a swampy-blue colour, she wears clothing made of leaves and other plant materials.

Description

The Matron of Nature is the complete opposite of her lover, the Magistrate, in that she embodies the chaotic environment that is nature itself. She is the goddess of nature, animals, and the sea, she can be as calm as a walk through a forest in the spring, or as violent and chaotic as a maelstrom. She was once just your average elven druid who went above and beyond her paygrade and was thus deified by the Arcfey to control and shape nature how she wants. In the Triumvirate, she is the Master Druid and Beastmaster for the pantheon, she is the patron goddess for all druids and anyone who relies on nature to survive.
