Hundwight

Beast-kin

"They say a dog is a man's best friend. I have to say that's true, I am my own best friend."

Hundwight Troubadour

Hundwight are the most commonly found beast-kin, it's nearly impossible to find a place where humanoids live without finding hundwight close by. A hundwight is fiercly loyal, when one gives you their word, it's nigh impossible for them to back down from it. Oftentimes you'll find a noble with a hundwight as their closest confidant, and their fiercest protector. While they do have an innate magical quality to them, many don't choose to prioritise the study of magic. But if one does, they will follow that thread to its source.

Hundwight are not singular, they have many different personalities. Some prefer the company of many, while others may prefer a more secluded lifestyle. One may be brimming with energy, while another may spend a whole day lounging and relaxing. It's never safe to assume that you have met everyone of a given ancestry just by meeting one, but that sentiment is especially true of the hundwight.

Hundwight Breeds

A hundwight tends to take on the appearance of a specific breed of domesticated dog, and as such they come in a variety of sizes. A chihuahua hundwight might be small in stature and have patchier hair and fur, while a great dane hundwight might tower over others and have a regal look to their face. A bulldog hundwight is short and squat, much more similar to a dwarf, while a greyhound hundwight might be long and slender, much closer to an elf.

And much like their housepet counterparts, hundwight of similar breed tend to have similar personalities, though with some variety within. A labrador hundwight might be immediately friendly and trusting towards others. While shiba inu hundwight are often much more independent, to the point of other's annoyance.
