The Colossus Boehmial was conceived during a period when the city was emerging as a cultural and intellectual place of significance. A coalition of scholars, spiritual leaders, and wealthy patrons proposed its creation after the angel, Boehmial; the divine protector of scholars, scribes, and artists. During the Wars of Succession, the statue became a rallying point for the citizens of Devanor who viewed it as a source of inspiration. Though damaged by fire and siege weapons during these turbulent times, the colossus withstood. It became a symbol of the city’s unyielding spirit and determination to protect its cultural and intellectual heritage.
Construction began under the direction of the empire's most talented architects, sculptors, and engineers, that eventually went on to form the The Shaper's District. The statue took nearly three decades to complete and is carved from white marble with it's body inlaid with gold.
The Colossus Boehmial stands over 200 feet tall, its wings spread wide in a protective embrace over the city. At its base lies The Sacred Tomb of Boehmial, conceived as a holy space where the spirit of the divine guardian would be eternally honored. It was constructed concurrently with the statue itself.
The Guardian’s Covenant:
A divine pact believed to have been sealed with the construction of the Colossus Boehmial and the sacred tomb. This covenant is thought to bind the angel’s spirit to Devanor, ensuring its protection.
