bar foods, ale. soothing.
WE break camp.
the morning is clear.
after a few hours, we arrive at the gates of marron
Marron is bustling. A little pocket of activity in the mountains. It has everything you would need in a town.
as you enter the town gates, the guards nod at us. and passerbys give a vague friendly greeting.

Valon finds an inn and a stable. Offers Kasiana to go hang out there.
Harvey brings krik and krak to the stables. sweet little halfing child in charge

inn with spacious common room. not terribly populated. old man wiping down far section of bar.

Paws is walking around the city. getting the lay of the land. Poking her head in shops.
1 main general store. most of the shops are contained as stalls in the open air market square.
tinkerer and florist nearby. paws is excited.
owlkin tinkerer. Paws introduces herself as a tinkerer and the owlkin offers to leave so that she can hav ethe spot. Paws explains and they share notes and ideas.
paws wants a crystal punching glove with the crystal from the machine creature.
owlkin doesn't know what to do with it. no specialists in the arcane arts.
Paws gets a whole little grab bag of goodies.
Then paws visits the florist. elf. how long have you been in marron. since I was little.

thrashing every night. One night, silence. hand on windowsill, staring out with the moisture and cold on his hand.
I told him to go back to sleep and myself fell asleep and when I woke up, he was gone.

the old man in the inn has not noticed us at the inn, just polishing the table.
Valon goes up to the innkeeper. Old man says he didn't hear us come in!

He offeres us food, drink and rooms.

Valon buys a round of drinks for everyone in the bar.

Small mountain village. safe haven for folks coming through the dawn pass.
Valon says that we didn't plan on coming this far (odd)
Valon wants to play cards, dice with somebody, anybody.
come evening, the bar will fill up and he can find someone to play with.

HArvey would like to request crackers from the barkeeper.
we usually just serve that with soup or just the crackers.
Makes a plate of crackers and prunes for harvey. Harvey and the barkeep kinda argue over the money.
Harvey would like the approach the teen. the teen looks a bit nervously at harvey. he doesn't want harvey to see his unfinished drawing.
harvey sits next to him and draws a muscular bird.
The teen is worried and tries scooting away. Harvey tries drawing the boy and really jacked.
The boy goes to another table. Harvey follows.
Harvey will mimics the teen's response.
Harvey folds his piece of paper gently and leave. the teen resumes.
Harvey gives his drawing of the jacked bird and teenager to old lucas and says "free"
'you are flattering the poor kid' ' all he does is sit there and mope"

It's been a long time since we've been in a real tavern/town again. I'm enjoying this.

The picture the teen is drawing is a skull in a triangle. harvey thinks if he recognizes this.
Their are strange niche cults all over. Harvey likes skulls too.
Harvey tries to slide his own drawing into the teen's pocket.
Harvey takes another look at the drawing so he can replicate it
Harvey goes to the bar counter and tries to reproduces the skull that the teen was drawing. Lucas is very vocal and annoyed that harvey too is drawing the same thing. The teen hears this and leaves the bar. Harvey asks what is this?
The teen used to be a good kid. not a weird one. when start weird? a couple months ago? 6 months ago or so?

it's a terrible place that shouldn't be asked about and it shouldn't be gone to. it's a dead place with dead people and people should not be going there.

before she died, for weeks, she would just wake up in the middle of the night, screaming. screaming that things were reaching out to grab her in the dark.
Can't ever forget that. almost a blessing when she passed.
How did she pass? he is very upset. SHe went into the mine one day after another sleepless night and when she came out, she was dead. SOmeone brought her out and she was dead. seems like she was so tired she made a mistake was mining. killed by the falling rubble.
a few days after that, the rest of the mine went,then the dissapearences started. then a lot of people started having nightmares too,.
Suggestions have been made that my lorna destabilized the whole mine. but whole mines don't normally just break due to one thing.

Yes, I've been alone for so long. It's hard to explain. you have to meet him. It's something new, something different. Look at you all, you've all traveled all over the place. dynamic lives. THis is the way to get other people this fun life too.
