A small scouting party was dispatched to the south to carry out a survey of some ruins that were identified on a previous excursion. There was no expectation of encountering hostile forces, however, in the event that such a situation arose the unit was under orders to avoid engagement and withdraw. Given overland travel and distances involved there was an allowance of 3 days for the round trip, including recon time - they were due back yesterday.
I am reluctant to send additional units from my command as their priority and responsibility if the defence of the town and this falls outside the remit of their training and duties. Therefore I am looking to recruit appropriately skilled individuals who are willing to travel to the location of the ruins (a little over a day's travel to the south), identify what has happened to the scouting unit and preferably return them to Haven.
