Survey conducted with mark 2 fixed lattice thaumoscope indicates a number of readings that may be worth further study.
Very low levels, no more than 500 microArcs per square yard - still in excess of expected background levels. Nearest signal oscillates at over 300,000 cycles per second and indications are that it is artificial in nature.
Most of the sources are too geographically distant to get a useful reading. Need to work on improving clarity and contrast on mark 3, maybe using a higher density crystal and mounting it on intersecting axises would allow for filtering out interference? Need to see about sourcing an appropriate crystal, perhaps I can modify an existing gemstone or use one as a starting point to grow and refine a new one. Investigate further.
One reading is close enough to guestimate a location - bearing of 138° off Heos and distance of 55 miles from Sagarium roof; margin of error leaves an area of approximately 20 square miles. Effective range would be limited to a few miles but I wonder if I can modify a scrying needle and calibrate it to the same frequency?
I have spare scrying needles but to calibrate it precise modifications will need to be made to a tuning fork. I wonder if Mx Cadarn would be able to help? Perhaps if I'm able to provide a high enough grade of silver, 100 grams should be sufficient but the purity would need to be in excess of 98% which would mean some refining. Or perhaps an alloy would be a better option? I could look at the properties of...
The writing has been getting messier as the document continues but at this point it is effectively illegible; it continues for a few paragraphs and then ends abruptly - seemingly half way through a sentence.
