A very common sponge-type lichen that grows at all levels of the ocean. It does change color based on where it comes from. Everyone knows, letting a large amount of blood flow in the ocean is very dangerous as there are predators that come at the slightest hint of blood in the water. Communities have ways to protect themselves to an extent, but outside those wards all bets all off when it comes to blood being a beacon for certain predators in the water. Bloodsponges, when placed in the vicinity of a blood spill or over a wound, will immediately suck up as much of the blood as possible. It helps to heal damage over a long period of time, and lowers the odds or outright stops the Bloodfrenzy condition from being applied to an enemy or accidentally calling in any others. You can only benefit from the healing effects of 1 bloodsponge/Long Rest but can use as many as you want to soak up the blood. The hourly healing continues until you finish a long rest.
